Switching Between Mobile Measurement Partners

Learn what amends you should make in SplitMetrics Acquire when changing MMP.

While switching between mobile measurement partners (MMPs), it's important to ensure no double-counting of installs and in-app events happens. This guide describes the process of correct transfer from one MMP to another in terms of integration with SplitMetrics Acquire.

There are four steps in the process of changing MMPs in terms of partner integration configuration:

  1. Disconnecting all apps in the previous MMP account from SplitMetrics Acquire.

  2. Confirming there is no new data received from the previous MMP.

  3. Setting up an integration with the new MMP.

  4. Deleting old conversions and creating new ones.

Disconnecting all apps in the previous MMP account from SplitMetrics Acquire

To disconnect the MMP, make sure to disable integration with SplitMetrics Acquire for every app in the previous MMP account. For most trackers, this process contains the following actions:

  • Log in to the previous MMP account.

  • Choose the app (iOS version).

  • Navigate to the Integrated Partner Configuration.

  • Find the SplitMetrics Acquire integration.

  • Disable the integration (or delete it if disabling is impossible).

❗Note: some tracking partners may have a different way of disabling integration with SplitMetrics Acquire.

Here is an example of deactivating Appsflyer integration with SplitMetrics Acquire.

Confirming there is no new data received from the previous MMP

Go to the Settings > Integrations section of the SplitMetrics Acquire platform and check whether any in-app events were received after disabling an integration of the prior tracking partner.

The information on the last received events and the time they were received is displayed in the Status column or the In-App events settings.

Setting up an integration with the new MMP

Deleting old conversions and creating new ones

Go to the Settings > Custom Conversions tab in SplitMetrics Acquire and delete all existing conversions by clicking on the Delete Conversion icon. There is a limit of 6 conversions created per app, so it's critical to delete no longer relevant conversions (due to the irrelevance of the old MMP).

After deleting old conversions, create new ones for every app, so all in-app events from the new MMP will be attributed to the desired conversion category. Learn more about creating conversions here.
