Integration with AppsFlyer enables seamless data transfer to SplitMetrics Acquire, allowing you to track and analyze user behavior more effectively. By receiving attribution and app event data, you can effortlessly track and analyze user behavior, enhance your marketing strategies, and optimize performance to drive better results and maximize your revenue.
❗Notes:
Before setting up the integration with SplitMetrics Acquire, ensure that you have configured integration with Apple Ads in your AppsFlyer account and can view events attributed to this media source on the AppsFlyer dashboard.
If you have several apps for which you need to receive installs and post-install events, repeat the below steps for each app.
We start tracking installs and events once you complete the integration setup and create custom conversions for in-app events.
Step 1. Activate SplitMetrics Acquire integration
1. Log in to your AppsFlyer account and select the app for which you want to get installs and the post-install events. Make sure to choose the iOS app version.
2. In the AppsFlyer menu, navigate to Collaborate > Partner Marketplace.
3. Search for "SplitMetrics Acquire | Formerly SearchAdsHQ" and select this partner.
4. Click Set up integration.
5. Turn on the Activate Partner toggle.
Step 2. Set Up General Settings
1. Under the General Settings section, paste your Apple Ads Campaign Group ID (only numbers) and hit Enter. 🔗 How to find my Campaign Group ID? If your app is managed under several Apple Ads campaign groups, you may add several IDs.

2. Next, enter your SplitMetrics Client ID for installs 🔗 How to find Client ID?
Recommendation: Reinstall attribution in Apple Ads Integration
To ensure accurate tracking and avoid data discrepancies, we strongly recommend enabling reattribution in your Apple Ads integration settings. This setting is not configured within the SplitMetrics–AppsFlyer integration, but in the Apple Ads integration setup in AppsFlyer.
Quick steps:
Go to AppsFlyer → Apple Ads integration settings.
Locate the Reinstall attribution toggle and enable it.
Save your changes.

After completing the General Settings, scroll down to the In-App Event Settings section.
Step 3. Configure sending In-App event postbacks
1. Paste the very same Client ID under the In-App Events Settings section.
❗ To ensure accurate transmission of installs and in-app events to SplitMetrics, it's important to use the correct SplitMetrics Client ID and verify it matches in the relevant fields both under General and In-App Event Settings sections.
2. Enable In-app Event Postbacks by turning on the toggle.
3. Select Add Manually to set up in-app events postbacks. This option is preferable as it prevents overloading our system with irrelevant events.
4. Set up events and data included in the postback:
Click Add Event.
From the AppsFlyer event list, select the event you wish to share with SplitMetrics Acquire.
In the For users from column, select This Partner Only to ensure only events related to SplitMetrics are passed.
In the Including column, select whether to send event revenue and parameter values.
💡 Tip: If you plan to track revenue in SplitMetrics Acquire and optimize for ROAS, select the Values & revenue option. If you plan to only track values or if this is a non-revenue event, select the Values & no revenue option.
❗Avoid adding sessions (open) and any ad revenue events (e.g., af_ad_revenue) to the In-App Event settings. If you need help setting them up, reach out to our Support team first for assistance.
5. Click Save Integration.
Step 4. Enable View-Through Attribution (Optional)
View-through attribution helps you capture the full impact of your ads by crediting installs that occur within 24 hours of a user seeing an ad, even if they don’t tap on it. This allows you to measure the hidden influence of your campaigns, tracking the impressions that spark curiosity, drive intent, and ultimately lead to conversions. By enabling view-through attribution, you gain deeper insights into user behavior, seeing how ads contribute to installs across multiple touchpoints over time.
Follow the steps below to activate view-through attribution in AppsFlyer and unlock a more complete picture of your Apple Ads performance:
1. In the left-hand menu, go to Collaborate > Active Integrations.
2. Select the Apple Ads integration.
3. Turn on the Install view-through attribution toggle.
4. Make sure the Install view-through lookback window is set to 24h.
5. Click Save Integration to apply the changes.
Once you’ve completed the steps, AppsFlyer will begin attributing view-through installs and automatically send this data to our platform. There’s no need to enable any additional settings in your integration with SplitMetrics Acquire.

👉 Once you've configured the integration in AppsFlyer, go back to SplitMetrics Acquire and create Custom Conversions for the necessary events to track them on the dashboards.
💡Tip: You can find in-app events without Custom Conversions by going to Settings > Integrations and checking the Integrations popup.
