How to Link Singular (Partner Integration)

Written by Polina Barysheva

Singular's integration with SplitMetrics allows the streamlined transfer of data between these two platforms. By leveraging this integration, you can more easily track and analyze user behavior, optimize your marketing campaigns, and ultimately improve your overall revenue.

💡 Note:

  • Singular integration with SplitMetrics Acquire is based on postbacks only.

  • You should Integrate the Singular SDK first (See instructions).

  • Ensure that the integration with Apple Ads is properly configured in your account before setting up the integration with SplitMetrics Acquire.

  • We start receiving installs and events once you have correctly completed the integration setup between SplitMetrics Acquire and Singular and created custom conversions.

Follow these steps to configure the integration with SplitMetrics Acquire in Singular:

Step 1. Add Partner integration

1. Log in to your Singular account.

2. Navigate to the Attribution tab and select Partner Configuration.

3. Click Add a Partner.

4. Search for SplitMetrics Acquire in the search box and select it from the dropdown menu. After selecting SplitMetrics Acquire, the SplitMetrics Acquire Partner configuration window will be shown.

Step 2. Attribution Postbacks & Settings Configuration

This tab lets you specify the application and set up install & re-engagement postback forwarding.

1. Select the app for which you want to configure partner settings/postbacks.

Note: If you have several apps for which you want to receive installs and post-install events, repeat the below steps for each app.

2. Insert your Client ID. 🔗 How to find my Client ID?

3. In the Attribution Postbacks section, select the checkboxes to forward both Install and Re-engagement (reinstalls) events.

4. (Optional) If you'd like to track installs and reattributions from views in SplitMetrics Acquire, you can enable the sending of View-Through postbacks. To do this, simply select the checkboxes in the Send View Through column.

5. In the Attribution Windows Settings, make sure to set

  • Click Through Deterministic toggle to 30 days for Installs and Re-engagements.

  • Click Though Probabilistic toggle to 0 days (Off) for Installs and Re-engagements.

💡 Optional Configuration Notes:

- By default, the View Through Deterministic attribution window is set to 24 hours, and the View Through Probabilistic window is set to 8 hours. You should keep the View Through Deterministic window at 24 hours and set the View Through Probabilistic window to 0. These same settings can also be applied to re-engagements.

- The Re-engagement Inactivity Window is set to 7 days by default, and it’s advised to leave this setting unchanged for best results.

6. Click the Next button to continue to the In-app Events Postback configuration.

Step 3. In-App Events Postback Configuration

In the In app Events Postback tab, you can set up the sending of in-app events. You can configure two types of events: Revenue Event Postbacks and Event Postbacks (non-revenue events).

➡️ To add revenue event postbacks:

1. Select Manually select individual revenue events from the dropdown.

2. Choose the SDK Event Name of the event you want to send to SplitMetrics Acquire.

3. For accurate revenue event forwarding, make sure to provide the following settings:

  • Ignore the Send All checkbox, as Singular by default only sends events attributed to Apple Search Ads.

  • Choose Unlimited in the Postback Window Starting Point column.

  • The Postback Window (days) field will no longer be relevant once you select the Unlimited option in the previous setting. Please leave this field as is without any additional actions.

  • Select the Include Revenue checkbox. If you don't select this checkbox, the postback will only transmit the number of the associated events, without any information about the generated revenue.

🚨 Important:

If your in-app purchase events don't have a custom name, simply add the __iap__ event to the settings. If you also wish to share the revenue from these in-app purchase events, select the Include Revenue Value checkbox next to the __iap__ event.

However, please do not choose the __REVENUE__ and __ADMON_ USER_LEVEL_REVENUE__ events. The REVENUE category includes all in-app purchase events along with Ad Revenue data, while SplitMetrics Acquire doesn't support Ad Revenue events from Singular at the moment.

If you plan to use Ad Revenue data for optimization, reach out to our support team to explore other integration options 💬

➡️ To add event postbacks (non-revenue events):

1. Choose the SDK Event Name of the event(s) you want to send to SplitMetrics Acquire.

2. For accurate event forwarding, make sure to provide the following settings for each event you add:

  • Ignore the Send All checkbox, as Singular by default only sends events attributed to Apple Ads.

  • Choose Unlimited in the Postback Window Starting Point column.

  • The Postback Window (days) field will no longer be relevant once you select the Unlimited option in the previous setting. Please leave this field as is without any additional actions.

💡 Note: If you have Singular Enterprise package, you'll notice sliders next to the revenue and non-revenue event postbacks. These slider buttons allow you to check and edit the postbacks.

If you want some data to be adjusted, the postback can be customized; however, you'll need to agree with our Support specialists first.

Once you've configured both event postback settings, click Save to finalize the integration.

Step 4 (Optional). Advanced Settings

Singular offers the ability to customize how postbacks are sent for users who opt out of sharing their data, complying with privacy regulations like CCPA, GDPR, ePrivacy, COPPA, and more. To use this feature, make sure you've implemented the LDS flag within your SDK / S2S integration. If you require assistance enabling this feature in your account, contact your Singular manager or the Singular Support team.

For more information on these settings, refer to Singular’s User Privacy for Postbacks FAQ.

To configure Advanced Settings, use the following steps:

1. In the Restriction Type section, choose how to restrict postbacks for Limited Data Sharing users. You may either opt to send postbacks without personally identifiable information (PII), or not send postbacks for these users altogether.

By default the restriction type will be set to None and we suggest leaving this setting this way to ensure the sending of all postbacks to SplitMetrics Acquire.

2. You can modify the default Limit Data Sharing status for users whose status isn't explicitly set in your app. By default, if a user's Limited Data Sharing status isn't defined as true, Singular assumes it's false and includes their PII in postbacks. If you set the default to true, all users will be considered as having opted for Limited Data Sharing by default, unless you specifically set a user's LDS status to false (learn more).

We recommend leaving this value as False (default) unless you specifically require this option.

Once you've configured all the settings, click Save and you're all set!

Step 5: Enable View-Through Attribution (Optional)

View-through attribution helps you capture the full impact of your ads by crediting installs that occur within 24 hours of a user seeing an ad, even if they don’t tap on it. This allows you to measure the hidden influence of your campaigns, tracking the impressions that spark curiosity, drive intent, and ultimately lead to conversions. By enabling view-through attribution, you gain deeper insights into user behavior, seeing how ads contribute to installs across multiple touchpoints over time.

Follow the steps below to activate view-through attribution in Singular and unlock a more complete picture of your Apple Ads performance:

1. Navigate to the Attribution tab and select Partner Configuration.

2. Find and click the Apple Ads integration.

3. Select the relevant app and click Edit Configuration to modify the settings.

4. In the Attribution Postbacks & Settings tab, scroll down to the Attribution Postbacks section.

5. Select the checkbox under Enable View Through to activate the feature.

6. Ensure that the Attribution Windows Settings are set to 24h for View-Through Deterministic.

7. Click Save to apply the changes.

Once you've completed these steps, Singular will start attributing installs based on views.❗To send View-Through postbacks to our platform, please refer to step 4 in the Attribution Postbacks & Settings Configuration section of this guide.

To better understand how this data appears on your dashboards, take a look at our Interpreting Metrics article. It explains which metrics reflect view-through attribution and how you can use them to gain deeper insight into your campaign performance.

👉 Once you've configured the integration in Singular, go back to SplitMetrics Acquire and create Custom Conversions for the necessary events to track them on the dashboards.

💡Tip: You can find in-app events without Custom Conversions by going to Settings > Integrations and checking the Integrations popup.
