The integration with Adjust enables SplitMetrics Acquire to receive install and in-app event data attributed to Apple Ads. By tracking and analyzing this data, you can gain deeper insights into user behavior, refine your campaign strategies, and improve overall performance.
To set up Adjust integration with SplitMetrics Acquire, log in to your Adjust account and follow the steps below:
Step 1. Select Partner Integration
1. Go to Campaign Lab > Partners and click +New Partner in the top-right corner.
2. On the Partner selection page, type SplitMetrics Acquire into the search bar.
3. Select SplitMetrics Acquire from the results and click Next.
Step 2: Choose Your App
1. On the App selection page, choose the iOS app you want to track installs and post-install events for.
2. Click Next to continue with the setup process.
💡 Note. Partner integration can only be set up for one app at a time.
Step 3. Configure Data Sharing
1. Enable Data Sharing
Under Enable data sharing, click Edit.
Enter your Client ID 🔗 Learn how to find your Client ID in both the Android and iOS fields.
Click Enable.
2. Set Data Sharing Preferences
a) Scroll down to the iOS section. ❗It's important to configure data sharing settings for iOS only, as we receive data exclusively from Apple Ads.
b) Under What other data you want to share?, select the data points that you want to share with SplitMetrics Acquire.
❗Important. Installs and reattributions are included by default and cannot be opted out from sharing with SplitMetrics Acquire. Installs are automatically sent to our platform and can be viewed in the Installs column on our dashboards.
As for reattributions, make sure they are enabled in the Adjust Attribution settings for clicks and, optionally, for impressions. Once enabled, the reattribution data will be transmitted to our platform and, just like new installs, will appear in the Installs column.
Sessions. Session forwarding is available only by specific request. Adjust doesn't automatically send session callbacks due to the high volume of sessions. Before selecting the Sessions checkbox, contact Support via the chat 💬 and provide information about your number of Session events per day, week, and month.
In-app revenue (from in-app purchases). Select this checkbox to directly send revenue to your SplitMetrics Acquire account.❗To share this data, you'll need to map events that generate revenue in the Map your events section.
Uninstalls and reinstalls. This checkbox is exclusively available for Enterprise accounts in Adjust. To track uninstalls or reinstalls in SplitMetrics Acquire, ensure these events are enabled for Apple Ads in Adjust. Then, create Custom Conversions to monitor them on our dashboards.
3. Map Events
In the Map your events section, select the in-app events you want to send to SplitMetrics Acquire.❗ Unmapped events will not be shared with our platform.
❗ It's essential to only manually map the events you need by following the steps below. Please refrain from clicking the Map All Events button, as it will overload our system with all the events Adjust is tracking.
Click + Map event.
From the Adjust event list, select the event you wish to share with SplitMetrics Acquire.
In the Partner Event field, enter the name you want to assign to this event.
Click Apply to save the mapping.
❗Important. The names of Partner events in Adjust must match the event names added to custom conversions in SplitMetrics Acquire. If they do not match, SplitMetrics Acquire will be unable to recognize or store data for those events. Avoid configuring events that you do not plan to track in SplitMetrics Acquire!
Step 4. Review Your Setup
1. After configuring data sharing, click Next to proceed to the setup review page and verify your selections. If any adjustments are needed, make them at this stage.
2. Once everything is set, select Enable Partner to start sending install and in-app event data to SplitMetrics Acquire.
Step 5. Prioritize Apple Ads Traffic
Adjust’s Untimed Clicks Priority feature allows you to manage how Apple Ads standard payloads are prioritized in attribution. By default, Adjust lowers the priority of standard payloads (referred to as "untimed engagements"), which can result in a portion of Apple Ads installs being attributed to other channels. To ensure accurate attribution and minimize discrepancies between Adjust and Apple Ads reporting, configure the setting to Keep untimed engagements at their original priority.
Here’s how to set it up:
1. Navigate to Campaign Lab > Partners.
2. In the search bar, type Apple and select the Apple partner integration from the results.
3. Click Edit Settings next to the relevant app.
4. Scroll down until you reach the Untimed Clicks Priority section.
5. Select Keep untimed engagements at their original priority to ensure more accurate attribution.
6. Click Save to apply your changes.
Step 6: Enable View-Through Attribution (Optional)
View-through attribution helps you capture the full impact of your ads by crediting installs that occur within 24 hours of a user seeing an ad, even if they don’t tap on it. This allows you to measure the hidden influence of your campaigns, tracking the impressions that spark curiosity, drive intent, and ultimately lead to conversions. By enabling view-through attribution, you gain deeper insights into user behavior, seeing how ads contribute to installs across multiple touchpoints over time.
Follow the steps below to activate view-through attribution in Adjust and unlock a more complete picture of your Apple Ads performance:
1. Go to AppView > All apps in the left menu.
2. Select your app, then navigate to the Attribution settings tab.
3. Click Edit to modify the attribution settings for impressions from new users.
4. Enable Device matching.
5. Set the Attribution window to 24 hours.
6. After making your changes, click Save to confirm and apply the updated settings.
💡 If you are tracking reattributions and want to enable view-through attribution for them as well, use the steps below:
1. In the Attribution settings, scroll down to the Existing users: reattribution section.
2. Click Edit to modify the settings.
3. Toggle on Enable reattribution under Impressions.
4. Set the Inactivity period to 7 days and the Reattribution window to 24 hours.
5. Save your changes.
Once you’ve completed the steps, Adjust will begin attributing view-through installs and automatically send this data to our platform. There’s no need to enable any additional settings in your integration with SplitMetrics Acquire.
To better understand how this data appears on your dashboards, take a look at our
Interpreting Metrics article. It explains which metrics reflect view-through attribution and how you can use them to gain deeper insight into your campaign performance.
👉 Once you've configured the integration in Adjust, go back to SplitMetrics Acquire and create Custom Conversions for the necessary events to track them on the dashboards.
💡Tip: You can find in-app events without Custom Conversions by going to Settings > Integrations and checking the Integrations popup.
If, after configuration, events are not coming to your account or you see data differences between the Adjust and SplitMetrics Acquire dashboards, read our help article to find out what may be causing this.
