Kochava offers two platforms: Kochava and Free App Analytics. Log in to the appropriate account based on the solution you use. The integration process is consistent across both platforms.
Before proceeding with the configuration, ensure the following:
1. The Kochava SDK is implemented in your app.
2. The latest SDK version is used for claims via both iAd and AdServices frameworks.
❗Important. To make sure the SplitMetrics Acquire integration functions correctly, update your existing Apple Ads configuration before proceeding with the SplitMetrics Acquire setup.
Please note that only events attributed to the Apple Ads media channel will be tracked by SplitMetrics Acquire.
Step 1. Apple Ads Partner Configuration
Locating Apple Ads Integration
Learn how to locate and access the Apple Ads integration within your Kochava account.
1. Log in to your Kochava account.
2. Navigate to Apps & Assets > Partner Configuration.
3. Select the desired iOS app from the dropdown in the top right corner.
4. Enter Apple Ads into the search bar.
5. Click the menu button (⋮) > Postbacks.
6. On the new page, find the Installs postback, then click the menu button (⋮) > Edit.
Configuring Postback Settings
Adjust postback settings to ensure accurate data attribution and delivery.
1. In the edit window, leave the Respect Data Controlled Flag checkbox empty.
2. Next, select the Attribute ATT Opt-Out Users checkbox.
3. Adjust the Manufactured Click Timestamp to 1 day.
4. Enter the organization ID(s) (this corresponds to your Apple Ads campaign group/Acquire ad account IDs)🔗 Learn how to find your organization ID.
5. Configure the Delivery Delay to Realtime Delivery and Retry Attempts to 3 attempts.
6. Click Save to apply the changes.
Step 2. SplitMetrics Acquire Partner Configuration
Locating SplitMetrics Acquire Integration
Learn how to locate and access the SplitMetrics Acquire integration within your Kochava account.
1. Navigate to Apps & Assets > Partner Configuration.
2. Select the desired iOS app from the dropdown in the top right corner if it's not already selected
3. Enter SplitMetrics Acquire into the search bar.
💡 Tip. If you can't find the SplitMetrics Acquire configuration using the search field, click Add a Configuration.
Then, search for SplitMetrics Acquire in the Media Partner dropdown. Once it's listed, select it, and click Go.
4. Click the menu button (⋮) > Postbacks.
5. On the new page, find the Installs postback or any other in-app postback (e.g., purchase, initial purchase) you want to configure, then click the menu button (⋮) > Edit.
❗Important. Postback configuration must be done separately for each event you plan to track in SplitMetrics Acquire.
Configuring Postback Settings
Follow these steps to configure postback settings and ensure data flows correctly to SplitMetrics Acquire.
1. Start by entering your unique Client ID in the appropriate field 🔗 Learn how to find your Client ID.
2. In the Package Name field, make sure to enter the exact name of your app as listed in SplitMetrics Acquire.
3. Add your App Store App ID to the Bundle ID field. If you prefer, you can also use your Apple Bundle ID instead.
4. Set Supply network data to Analytics Partner to True.
❗Important. If this setting is left as False, Kochava won’t be able to send any data to SplitMetrics Acquire
5. Enable the Send Revenue Data option to track revenue for your events in SplitMetrics Acquire.
6. Leave the Send Device ID checkbox empty to ensure that sensitive identifiers, like IDFA, are not included in the postback.
💡We don’t collect sensitive information like IDFA from trackers, ensuring that your data remains secure and compliant with privacy regulations.
7. Configure the Delivery Delay to Realtime Delivery and Retry Attempts to 3 attempts.
8. Choose All for the Delivery Method and save the settings to complete the configuration.
👉 Once you've configured the integration in Kochava, go back to SplitMetrics Acquire and create Custom Conversions for the necessary events to track them on the dashboards.
💡Tip: You can find in-app events without Custom Conversions by going to Settings > Integrations and checking the Integrations popup.
