While using the tools from the Optimization Hub, you will of course want to optimize your strategies to focus on specific metrics. By selecting an appropriate optimization model and a primary target metric, you enable the system to focus on the outcomes that matter most to your business objectives, ultimately improving overall performance.
The selected target optimization metric is consistently applied across all our Optimization tools. This includes, but is not limited to, Bid Optimization Strategies, Automation Rules and so on. Any metric can become the target of your optimization strategy, including BI and Custom Metrics.
How to set up the Target Optimization Metric
You can find the setting by opening your Optimization hub tab.
At the upper right corner of the screen you will see a field with your app selection and a gear icon.
Working with a single app
Tapping the Gear icon will open the pop-up window that lets you set up your target optimization metric for the selected app.
There are four available models for optimization:
CPA
ROAS
CPI
Other
Once you choose the main model, you can select your Primary target metric from the dropdown menu. This metric becomes the key reference point for optimization decisions.
The Other option allows you to choose and optimize based on your own Custom Metrics, enabling greater control and alignment with business-specific performance indicators.
Bulk Management
If your goal is universal across all your portfolio, you can assign your target optimization metric in bulk. To do this, just select All Applications and click the gear icon again.
In the appeared pop-up window, the full list of your applications will be shown along with their target metrics (if any were selected).
Now you can either Select All or just choose multiple necessary apps and assign the desired Optimization model and Target metric. The selection will be automatically applied to all the apps you chose.
Where else can you set up your Target Optimization Metric?
To ease your set up process, we've also added the possibility to select your main optimization metric directly when you're creating your Custom Conversions.
How it can be useful to you
Configuring a Target Optimization Metric has several practical benefits:
Simplifies the creation of optimization strategies and the setup of conversions
Ensures consistency across optimization tools and workflows
Provides a clearer and more intuitive configuration experience
By clearly defining your optimization focus upfront, you create a more efficient and coherent optimization framework that supports better performance outcomes.
