How to set up Slack integration

Keep yourself updated about any changes made by automated rules by configuring Slack integration in your account.

By adding Slack integration, you will:

  • Receive notifications about the actions triggered by automated rules directly in the Slack channel of your choice and take steps immediately if needed.

  • Reduce app switching and boost your productivity.

  • Download the CSV report or quickly jump to the Rules Logs page right from the Slack notification.

  • Make your team collaboration more effective.

How to configure integration with Slack?

  1. Go to Settings > Integrations in the navigation menu.

  2. Hover over the Slack logo and click Connect.

  3. You will be redirected to the Slack authentication page, where you can choose the Slack channel to receive the notifications.

  4. Click Allow to provide SplitMetrics Acquire with all the requested permissions.

    Notes:

  • Slack Workspace is preselected if you have already logged in to the Slack app. If you need to receive notifications in another Workspace, click the button in the top-right corner and choose a different Workspace.

  • Depending on your company's Workspace set-up, you might need to wait for your Workspace Admin approval on SplitMetrics Integration to start receiving notifications.

  • Usually, Slack lets every full member of a Workspace add an integration to a channel unless an organization reached 10 apps limit for a certain rate.

How to set up receiving Automated rules notifications in Slack?

In addition to the Email alerts, you can set up Slack notifications for your automated rules. There are two types of Slack notifications depending on the rule action:

  • Notification informing you that the rule's conditions are met.

  • Notification about the actions triggered by the automated rule (Change campaign budget, Change default Max Bid, etc).

Both notifications allow you to download a detailed CSV report for further analysis.

​💡 Tip. When you use the Change keyword bid or Adjust keyword bid by target metric actions in the rules, you can click the Ads Manager button in the Slack notification. Clicking this button will take you to the Ads Manager, where you will exclusively see the keywords impacted by the rule. This will help you save time and eliminate the need for extra steps to identify the affected keywords.

To configure Slack notifications:

  1. Go to the Automation tab.

  2. Create a new rule or click the Edit icon to modify the existing one.

  3. In the automated rule window, select the Send Notification Only action. If you use another action, such as Change keyword bid, make sure to toggle on the Notify me when conditions of this rule are met option.

  4. Then, select your Workspace from the drop-down menu.

When the setup is completed, SplitMetrics Acquire will start sending rules notifications to you in Slack.
