How to Set Up Single Sign-On with Okta OpenID for SplitMetrics Acquire

By setting up Single Sign On with Okta OpenID, you can now use your Okta credentials to effortlessly sign in to the SplitMetrics Acquire dashboard and enjoy a simplified and centralized authentication process.

Follow the steps below to quickly set up Custom App Integration at Okta and introduce new single sign-on functionality to your team.

☝️ To get started with the setup, you will need to have an Okta account with administrator rights.

1. Log in to your Okta admin account and navigate to Applications > Applications.

2. From the Applications page, click the Create App Integration button.

3. In the pop-up window, select OIDC - OpenID Connect as the Sign-in method and Web Application as your application type. Click Next to proceed.

4. You will be redirected to the settings of your new web app integration.

In the General Settings section, provide App integration name: SplitMetrics Acquire and upload SplitMetrics Logo πŸ‘‰ download it from here.

5. Next to the Grant type, make sure to select the checkboxes Authorization Code and Refresh Token.

7. In the Trusted Origins section, make sure to leave Base URI empty.

8. Under Assignments > Controlled access, specify how you would like to assign app integration to your organization members and click Save.

πŸ’‘ Tip: The default access option allows everyone in your Okta organization to access the integration. We suggest selecting Limit access to selected groups and adding a specific group(s) to give them access.

9. Once you've saved your app integration, you will be redirected to the application settings. To configure OpenID Connect, go to the General tab, and click the Edit button next to the Client Credentials section.

10. Select Client secret as your client authentication method, leave the checkbox Proof Key for Code Exchange (PKCE) unselected, and click Save.

11. Click Edit next to the General Settings section. Select the checkbox Refresh Token, and choose to Use persistent token.

12. Scroll down to the Login section > Login initiated by > from the drop-down choose Either Okta or App.

13. For the Application visibility, select both checkboxes:

  • Display application icon to users

  • Display application icon in the Okta Mobile app.

15. Finally, make sure the Federation Broker Mode is disabled.

16. Once you've successfully configured Single Sign-On in Okta, please provide the following details to your dedicated Account Manager or the support team, so that we could complete SSO setup on our end:

  • Auth URL (without admin- part)

  • Client ID

  • Client Secret
