In what ways I can edit ad groups names?
Bulk editing is quite easy, and here is how you can do this in several ways:
Replace a part of the ad group name
1. In the Find field, enter the part of the name that you want to change in the selected ad groups. It will be found and highlighted in the original names in the left column.
2. In Replace with, enter the new text that will replace the highlighted part in the original names.
3. Click Apply changes.
And that's it! Your ad group names have been successfully updated.
Replace a whole ad group name with a new one
1. Enter a new name for all the selected ad groups in Replace with.
2. As all the new names are to become identical, _1, _2, etc. will be added to each ad group's name (starting from the second one) to differentiate them. Uniqueness of group names is checked only within one campaign.
3. Click Apply changes.
Note: you don’t have to write anything in the Find field. The changes will be applied to all the ad groups listed in the left column.
Add specific macros to the name
Macros let automate the process of creating or updating ad group names, by dynamically inserting variables such as storefront, device type, and so on. They can relate to the ad group or keywords that belong to the selected ad group.
There are the following types of macros to add:
Current name
Storefronts
Match type
Device type
All macros
1. Click +Use.
2. You can add the original name in the beginning (+ Ad groups current name) or enter a new text.
3. Select the necessary macros. You can add just one, several macros, or even all macros at once. The macros are separated by the underline; you can change or delete it if you'd like.
Notes:
You can add macros before, after, or both before and after the entered text or current name.
If you select macros Match type for the ad group without keywords, the double underline will be added __, for example, AL__adgroup.
You don’t have to write anything in the Find field. The changes will be applied to all the ad groups listed in the left column.
All name changes will be reflected in Change history.
Overall, bulk actions can help streamline your workflow and make working with multiple objects more efficient and less tedious. It is a valuable feature that can save time and make your work more productive.
