Here, you will learn how to change the match type of keywords when you add them to another campaign or ad group from the interface and using a CSV file.
A typical case for this is when you add well-performing search terms as keywords or your broad match keywords to the exact ad groups and campaigns as exact match keywords.

There are two ways to bulk change the match type of keywords when you add them to ad groups or campaigns in bulk. The first method will update only the keywords you can see and have selected on the dashboard - a maximum of 100, as a maximum of 100 lines are available. If you need to update more keywords, you can do that using method two (by using a CSV file).
Go to the keywords level, and filter out the keywords in a particular ad group, campaign, or keywords of a particular match type. Select the keywords you would like to change and click Actions.
In the drop-down menu, click Add as keywords.
Tip ๐กTo quickly find the keywords you need for bulk editing, you can search for multiple keywords at once by separating them with commas in the main search field or by using the search filter.
In the appeared window, you can select where you want to add the keywords.
You can:
Add keywords to the selected ad groups
Add keywords to all ad groups in the selected campaign
For example, you would like to add the selected broad match keywords to the exact ad group in the generic campaign as exact match keywords.
Once you've made your choices, click Select to continue.
The keywords will be transferred with the default CPT bid of $1. To adjust bids, select the checkboxes next to the keywords, then either enter your preferred values directly using inline editing or click Edit Bid to modify the bids in bulk.
Choose the desired option from the dropdown menu to change the Match Type for keywords in bulk.
You can also add your own keywords manually.

Simply type them into the designated field, separating each with a comma or line break, and press Enter.
Download the keywords you would like to update.
You will see a notification that the report is on the way.
The report will be downloaded through your browser directly. Download and open a CSV file.
Here, you can delete the keywords you don't plan to change. For keywords you are going to change, specify the Update action in the first column and change the Match Type.

Save this file and upload it to your account:
Click Actions > Upload Keywords.
Drag and drop or choose a local file and click Next.

Duplicate keywords editing their match type to a new ad group and remove the old ad group to get rid of the incorrect match type keywords.ย
1. Create new ad groups by duplicating the existing group.
2. Select Use the original ad group settings without including keywords in duplication.
3. Pause/remove all incorrect ad groups in question for convenience.
Note. You can remove ad groups in the Apple Ads only.
4. Create an automation rule to duplicate keywords. You can easily use Automation rules to transfer keywords from one ad group to another.
