Iris: From Insights to Execution

Written by Valeryia Markotic

Iris doesn’t just help you discover opportunities. You can also apply recommended changes directly from the conversation, automate recurring analysis with scheduled tasks, and manage campaign performance with status actions 🚀

Previously, Iris could recommend changes, but applying them often required manual work. Now you can go from insights to action in just a few clicks and keep track of performance over time.

What can you do with Iris?

  • Add keywords based on Iris recommendations.

  • Change CPT bids based on Iris analysis and keyword-level bid recommendations.

  • Schedule recurring tasks to monitor performance and receive regular insights.

  • Pause or re-enable campaigns, ad groups, and keywords directly through Iris.

Find Iris on the Overview Dashboard

The Overview Dashboard brings all your Iris activity together in one place, making it easier to keep track of conversations, scheduled tasks, and new opportunities.

  • Hot Feed: Quickly return to your most recently opened chats and task results with Iris.

  • Scheduled Tasks: View and manage your scheduled tasks from the dedicated tab.

  • Tasks: Revisit previous threads to review Iris responses and continue where you left off.

The dashboard also features a Suggestions section, where you can discover tasks Iris can perform to help streamline workflows and scale your campaign optimization efforts.

Iris offers several ways to turn insights into action, from discovering new keywords and adjusting bids to automating recurring tasks and managing campaign status. Let’s explore how each feature works.

Add keywords from Iris recommendations

1. Ask Iris to find new keywords

Start with a keyword-related request in an Iris discovery scenario. For example:

  • “Find new potential keywords for the Spain storefront.”

  • “The <ad group> is performing well. What additional keywords should I add to scale it?”

  • “Do a full keyword gap analysis for my app versus <competitor app>. What’s missing from my campaigns?”

Iris analyzes your request and provides keyword recommendations.

2. Review the proposed changes

Along with its recommendations, Iris can generate an action card with the proposed keywords and their suggested setup.

The action card includes:

  • Keywords to add

  • Destination campaign and ad group

  • Match type

  • Suggested CPT bid

The suggested values are pre-filled to make the setup faster.

3. Add the keywords

If everything looks good, you can apply the recommendation with one click. Iris will add the proposed keywords using the selected settings.

4. Make adjustments if needed

Want to change something before applying the recommendation? No problem! Open the canvas view to review and edit the proposed changes.

You can adjust:

  • Keywords

  • Campaign or ad group destination

  • Match types

  • CPT bids

The editing experience works the same way as the regular Add Keywords flow, giving you full control before the changes are applied.

💡 Tip: Use Iris to discover keyword opportunities, then review the proposed setup before applying it. This lets you combine AI-powered research with your own campaign strategy.

Change CPT bids with Iris

Iris can analyze your campaigns and propose exact CPT bid changes per keyword, which you review and apply in one tap.

How to change CPT bids with Iris

  1. Ask Iris anything that leads to a bid decision. You don't need to say the word "bid" — for example: "My CPA is up on brand campaigns, what do I do?", "Lower bids on my overpaying keywords", or "What happens if I raise the bid on [keyword]?"

  2. Iris responds with its analysis and generates an action card showing: the reason, the goal the bids are judged against, the campaign, and a summary of how many keywords are affected, with current and new bid ranges.

  3. If the proposed values look right, click Change CPT bid to apply.

  4. If you want to review first, click Review & edit to see the full list grouped by ad group, sorted by spend. Each keyword shows its current → new bid and predicted effect. Deselect any rows before applying.

You can also skip the analysis and set a specific value directly: for example, "set $2 on these six keywords." Iris validates the input and drafts the change.

How Iris calculates the bid

Every bid Iris proposes comes from a model or from Apple — never from the LLM. It follows a four-level waterfall:

  1. Active bid strategy

  2. Samba Bid Simulator (where available, also predicts the effect on spend, installs, and events)

  3. Portfolio predictions

  4. Apple's recommended bid

If no level produces a bid, Iris says it can't recommend one rather than inventing a number. Where Samba covers the keyword, the card also shows the predicted effect on spend, installs, and events.

💡Scope and important notes

  • Applies to Search Results campaigns, active campaigns, ad groups, and keywords that already exist and carry a bid.

  • Max Conversions and Target CPA campaigns don't use a CPT bid — Iris will explain that the lever is Target CPA instead of building an action card.

  • Keywords already managed by a bid strategy: Iris explains that the strategy re-optimizes daily and would overwrite a manual bid. The card is only shown if you insist.

  • If the bottleneck isn't the auction (e.g. weak conversion rate, low tap-through rate, budget already spending out), Iris names the real lever instead of proposing a bid change.

  • Apple takes up to ~24h to reflect a bid change in the auction. The status reads "effect appears within ~24h" — if nothing moves within an hour, that is expected behavior, not a bug.

  • Nothing writes without your confirmation. Action cards expire after 24 hours. If a bid moves between the draft and your confirmation, that row is blocked rather than applying a stale value.

Schedule recurring tasks with Iris

Iris can run tasks automatically on a schedule, turning one-off requests into recurring performance monitoring. Instead of repeating prompts or manually checking performance, schedule a task and let Iris deliver results in its own conversation thread.

1. Create a scheduled task

You can create a task in two ways:

  • Choose a dashboard template, such as Weekly UA Review, Keyword SOV review or Keyword Movement Check.

  • Schedule an existing answer by selecting Schedule task on an Iris response.

2. Choose the schedule

Tasks can run once, daily, weekly, or monthly against a connected account.

Each scheduled task has its own conversation thread where you can review results and send follow-up messages.

3. Review the results

When a task runs, Iris posts the results in its dedicated thread. You can return to that thread to review insights and continue the conversation. You can also find scheduled tasks and their results on the Overview Dashboard.

💡Each run costs 1 credit in Regular mode or 2 credits in Deep Thinking mode. The cost is fixed for the task. If your credit balance runs out, the task pauses until credits are available again.

Pause or re-enable campaigns, ad groups, and keywords

Iris can also help manage campaign status by preparing actions to pause or re-enable campaigns, ad groups, and keywords.

1. Ask Iris to review performance

Iris may suggest pausing underperforming items based on its analysis, or you can explicitly ask it to prepare a status change.

2. Review the proposed action

Iris generates a pause action card for you to review. The change is not applied automatically: you must confirm the action before anything changes.

3. Confirm the action

Review the proposed changes and confirm them to apply the action. Confirming a status action costs 1 credit.

💡Keep in mind:

  • Action cards expire after 24 hours.

  • Iris only re-enables items when explicitly asked. It does not proactively suggest enabling them.

  • Iris does not recommend pausing brand or core keywords. It suggests lowering their bids instead.

🚀Iris helps you move beyond recommendations. Discover keyword opportunities, adjust bids, schedule recurring analysis, and manage campaign status directly through Iris, while keeping control over the changes applied to your account.
